A broken arm, a YouTube video, and a kettle of tallow.
Kudzu Lane started on a small farm in Carroll County after a long run on the road. Here is the story in the soap maker's own words.

I've always been a crafty person. Sewing, knitting, crocheting, tatting and attempts at painting. I always have a project going and I like to keep it mixed up. Not always working on the same type of craft. When we drove trucks I always had something to keep my hands busy when we had down time.
My husband and I were team drivers for FedEx Custom Critical and he got injured and we had to quit working. I was kept busy with sewing, gardening and we recently got some farm animals. I fell in January and broke my left arm. For a while I could hardly do anything but sit around and feel sorry for myself. I was watching a YouTube video and a young girl was telling her journey to having a soap business. I was interested and started watching everything I could to get information on soap making. I finally decided to try it and wanted to make my soap with tallow. I have made a couple of batches with "vegan oils" which does not have any animal products in it. I will always have a few of these bars to sell. Tallow is kind of trending right now so I ordered all my supplies and got going. I was hooked.
My soap started out being only fragranced with essential oils. But I have now branched out to fragrance oils also. So both are offered. Many people are allergic to fragrances and prefer an unscented bar. I only use natural ingredients for the colorants. There are so many options that you do not need dyes. Clay powders, botanical powders, spices such as turmeric, activated charcoal and indigo powder. I'm learning new things every day. Customers ask for fragrances or soap ingredients to heal skin conditions. I try to see if I can accommodate their needs.

Straight answers on ingredients
The base
Most bars are tallow-based: hard, long-lasting, creamy lather. A few bars are made with plant oils only and contain no animal products; those are labeled "vegan" in the shop.
Scent
Some bars are scented with essential oils, some with fragrance oils, and we always keep an unscented bar for anyone sensitive to fragrance. Each product page says which.
Color
No dyes. Color comes from clay powders, botanical powders, turmeric, activated charcoal and indigo powder.
